Jesus is often depicted holding a globe that represents the earth. This is the image of the Pantocrator, which means that Jesus is the Life. In fact, Pantocrator means that Jesus is the source of all Life, the giver of all Life, the sustainer of all Life. Without Jesus there is no Life. The Apostle John said that Jesus was present in the very beginning when God created the world: the world was made by him. John 1:1-2 ++ And Jesus reinforced the concept of the Pantocrator when he said *I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.* John 15:5
