The Rapture
The only example we have of someone being - Taken up to Heaven - is Elijah, who was carried up in a flaming chariot with horses. He went to heaven without dying first. We don't understand this mystery, but it is similar to what is promised to believers during the End Times. There are several references to what we call The Rapture: when Christian Believers are caught up to heaven. The Bible says some will be taken and some will be left, just like Elijah went up to Heaven and poor Elisha was left behind.
The Rapture is a mystery. The Bible refers to it but explains very little about it. We don't know when it will happen. Apparently when it does happen, it will be suddenly and without warning. The Bible also mentions that the resurrection of the dead will happen before the Rapture of the living.
