The Seven Churches of Revelation
The Church of Philadelphia is my favorite. These folks have been steadfast in the faith and determined. So Jesus gives them a very special promise, "I will keep you from the hour of trial." It doesn't say HOW Jesus will keep them, but it's a promise that we can rest in: if we are faithful and determined and persistent in our Christian life, we can count on Jesus to help us through any and all situations. One way or other, he has promised to keep us. Some people think the Rapture will save us from the great time of Tribulation but I don't know about that. I think too much is made of the Rapture because nobody knows for sure when it will happen. And people are facing terrible trials every day, so what help is the Rapture for those who are suffering at this moment? But we can hang our hopes on this promise from Jesus himself:
