no-unwholesome-talk

I've been concerned about the negative, depressing posts on Facebook. The Bible encourages us to focus on what's good, for our own well-being. ++ Politics: we are inventing whole new levels of nasty on social media, which is bleeding over into our families and culture. ++ There's no reason to post about abused animals or other abuses (such as the hoax about Irish slaves), since we can't do anything about something that's already happened. Bombarding FB with horror stories is, in itself, abusive for the rest of us. ++ And then there are the long rants against wearing masks: the hostility, oh my goodness. If you can't wear them, or just don't want to, that's OK. No need to go on the attack. Are people expressing anger at one thing when it's actually other things that they're anxious about? Sometimes we do that when our world seems out of control. We divert our frustration to something that's easier to focus on. Facebook should be more pleasant than it's been lately. We can encourage one another, and help each other get through this very scary year, together.
